| About Us | WHBC is an independent, fundamental Baptist Church, with a heart for missions, lost souls, and the family. Due to its age (founded in 1917), WHBC has somewhat changed over its many years; but in roughly the past ten years, under its previous pastor, had been friendly toward homeschooling and courtship. With the coming of its newest pastor in December 2009 (Dwayne Piper), it has the added footing and momentum to transition into a family-integrated church, as well. Pastor Piper previously pastored a small family-integrated church in TN before the Lord led him to WHBC; and he now desires to lead WHBC in that same direction. Currently, the church has an optional staffed nursery and one optional Sunday School class for youngsters; but Pastor Piper allows families to choose to have their family sit together at all times, if they so wish. Again, WHBC is in a transition toward family-integration, yet with a full nursery and a limited Sunday school for visitors or for those who desire such things. Pastor Piper himself was homeschooled from third grade to graduation; and his wife, Mrs. Kristen, for all of her life. Both courted, and shared their first kiss at their wedding altar in 2004. They currently have four children, ages 5,3,2,<1--all of whom they will homeschool, by God’s grace.
